Methodology & limits
How the listings were checked in the Oct 27–28, 2026 passes and the Oct 28–29 addition pass, what each certification label rests on, how listings are ordered, and the limits of those checks.
Ratings, and how this list is ordered
Where a profile shows a rating, it comes from public place listings — not from reviews collected or verified by this site. No reviews are fabricated here, and ratings are a weak signal: small counts, no context, no verification. Treat them accordingly.
Listings are ordered by tier first — Featured, then Enhanced with per-lead opt-in, then Enhanced, then free — and within each tier by certification: ABPS-verified first, then facial-board, then other-board, claimed, pending, and unknown. Within each paid tier, listings rotate daily inside their certification group; free listings do not rotate. Featured and Enhanced are paid tiers and are labelled as paid on every profile; paid placement is not an endorsement and not a quality ranking. No practice currently pays for placement, so today’s order is certification order within the free tier.
How certification was checked — and its limits
The ABPS directory tool itself is form-based, so every direct check in this directory was done by hand in the ABPS directory, and each checked profile names its own check date in its verification summary.
Oct 27, 2026 — 30 Scottsdale-area names checked directly: 29 verified, including Dr. Marc Malek, confirmed from the record under “Marcel Maan” Malek, Scottsdale, certified 2002; 1 not found (Dr. Alexander Golger, listed as Other board, FRCS(C)). Oct 28, 2026 — statewide names checked directly: 75 verified, plus Dr. Robert J. Spies of Paradise Valley, checked directly the same day. Four names were not found (Dr. Brent Schultz, Dr. Rohit Jaiswal, Dr. Spencer Michalke, and Dr. Khaldoun Jabi — Jabi’s prior claimed label withdrawn); Dr. Kurt Reinke’s ABPS record was found expired 12/31/2025; Dr. Armando Alfaro’s record showed retired; Dr. Joseph Carey’s candidate record was in Los Angeles with no Arizona corroboration and is not credited as verified.
Specialties on a profile are only what the source named: a surgeon whose source said “breast, body, face” shows exactly those categories. A generic category tag is never counted as a specific procedure — procedure pages count only listings whose source explicitly names that procedure.
Trustoria was not used as a source anywhere on this site. That site currently displays a court seizure notice and its labels were never relied on.
The Oct 28–29, 2026 combined addition pass added 56 further listings and 752 procedure additions verified against practice sites, holding back 18 weaker-evidence items rather than publishing them. A freshness sweep on Oct 28, 2026 removed North Valley Plastic Surgery and Four Peaks Plastic Surgery of Tempe for lack of a verifiable current practice, and Dr. David M. Creech and Dr. Atanu Biswas were removed after their practices closed.
Always confirm a surgeon’s current credentials before a consultation: check the ABPS directory directly and the Arizona Medical Board. This site is a directory of public information, not medical advice and not a recommendation of any surgeon.
Paid tiers are labelled as paid wherever they appear; placement is never an endorsement or a quality ranking, and payment never changes a certification label.
